Esmeraldo Medalla Alinday
The second child and first son of Lolo Jose and Lola Coring
Boboy, as we know him, was very successful in his studies and in establishing a name for himself. The second of the Alinday children, he passed the chemical engineering board exam with flying colours. His job at the Atlas Mining Company (ACMDC) in Toledo City came with a lucrative package. When the company went bust in the early 1980's, Boboy tried his luck abroad and worked in the Middle East. He was able to ink several contracts for land jobs abroad until he retired in the early 2000.
He met his wife Tita Samson, from Toledo City while working at ACMDC. After getting married, they settled in Toledo where they raised their three sons Erwin, Elvin and Elgin. With three grandsons bearing the Alinday family name, Lolo Jose is assured of the continuity of his lineage.
All his three sons spent most of their growing years in Toledo but when it was time for them to go to College the family moved to a location closer to Cebu City. They rented out their Toledo house at first but eventually they had to sell it as maintaining two houses was obviously costly.
Boboy is now retired and is happily enjoying his golden years with his lovely wife Tita in Basak. Erwin is mostly in Negros working for a power company while Elvin (Bombi) followed his Daddy's footsteps working abroad. He made sure though he comes and visit Basak to see not only his parents but also his wife and son while Elgin (Boyet) is also an engineer and lives with his family just near his Daddy and Mama.
Boboy and Tita have four grandchildren - three grandsons and one granddaughter who was born same date as Lolo Jose's natal day.
