Lolo Leon and Lola Epay

Lolo Leon hailed from Alimodian, Iloilo, Philippines. Unfortunately we do not know much about him. We welcome information from readers who may have known Lolo Leon and/or his family in Iloilo.

Mother: Josefa Kiamco (1898-1980)

Lola Epay (as we fondly called her) was the daughter of Pomposa and Melanio Kiamco from Carmen, Cebu, Philippines. She had four siblings, the eldest Rufino and three younger siblings - Soledad, Ricardo and Vicenta.

Lolo Pinoy (Rufino) got married and raised his family in Malaybalay, Bukidnon, Lola Soling became Mrs. Soledad Alfonso, Lolo Cadong (Ricardo) never married and Lola Tintay became Mrs. Vicenta Tumulak.

Lola Epay spent most of her years with Lolo Jose and his family. In the picture above, she was with Lolo's three daughters (L-R Sol, Edith and Nonie) in front of the ancestral home.

When she became ill due to old age, she was looked after by her daughter Rosario (Lolo Jose's younger sister). Sometime in 1979, she asked to go back to Carmen, Cebu to be with Lolo Jose's family where she died in 1980.

In Lola Epay's memory, Edith named her youngest child Josefa whom we fondly call Epps. Below is Epps' highschool graduation photo.
