Lola Coring was the eldest of seven children - 4 girls and three boys. She spent her youth in her hometown in Malaybalay, Bukidnon and worked as a teacher after finishing her secondary education. While all her siblings and their families remained in Bukidnon, Lola Coring spent most of her adult years in Carmen, Cebu where she raised her family and practised her profession at the same time. Even though she made Cebu her second home, she made sure that she maintained contacts with her family in Bukidnon, making a visit to her hometown whenever an opportunity arises.
